2.5" Conical Stainless Steel Tea Strainer

Some cocktails are better without the pulp.

For sours, daisies, and citrus-forward shaken cocktails, double straining is a small step that makes a visible difference. The Hawthorne strainer does most of the work. The tea strainer finishes the job by catching the fine particles that cloud the drink and give it a rougher texture. It takes one extra second and the result is a noticeably cleaner pour.

Questions before you buy

Do I always need to double strain?

Not always. Double straining is most useful for citrus-heavy shaken cocktails where pulp and seeds are present. Spirit-forward stirred drinks usually don't need it.

How do I use it?

Strain normally through your Hawthorne strainer, but hold the tea strainer over the glass at the same time so the liquid passes through both before hitting the glass. You can hold both in one hand with practice.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes. Stainless steel construction handles the dishwasher fine, though hand rinsing right after use keeps the mesh clear.
